Watching the film today the computer generated imagery that seems so futuristic in 1997 already looks old fashioned. Nevertheless in some ways this now old story feels like a prophecy for the future. I couldn't help but think of how the Titanic story mirrors what may be the main challenge facing humanity today. In much the same way weaning the global economy off fossil fuels in time to avoid a climate calamity has proven almost impossible.
