Ruth and Catherine's Relationships
There's probably a lot we've had on pack with Ruth and Catherine speaking of which they both sort of cross certain lines in this book. Why did those characters feel like they can't be upfront with one another when they have such a close relationship? I thought about this a lot because Ruth does perpetuate something pretty unforgivable but I felt like for her it was a lesser of two evils she would do anything to protect her daughter. For Catherine I think when she began to realize that her mother was not who she thought she was if that's sort of vague enough she didn't trust her mom and she didn't know what else her mom had lied about.
