Detection of Lightning in Storms

Physicist teroacianoto and his colleagues decided to probe inside thunderstorms by detecting these gama rays. The team installed four radiation detectors along the coast of japan, in an area perfect for tracking thunderstorms. On the sixth of february this year, they observed lightning create an tense flash of gamma ray radiation which continued to glow for a fraction of a second for around ten minutes. After they then saw more radiation, this time at an energy characteristic of tiny particles of anti matter annihilating with matter.
