Timuka is just term referring to a broad group that was spread all around the north eastern and north central peninsula of florida. They were not a centralized, unified kingdom or empire. And these villages and small chieftoms sometimes confederated together, made alliances, but also fought among themselves. In the west, the timuka tended to be more focused on exploiting forest food sources such as hunting and gathering,. in the east, they were more focused on marine sources and fishing. The major eastern tumukin sub group was called the mokama, which in the tumuka language just means ocean.
