Jocelyn Murgatroyd wrote in to say. Chimp's at apes not monkeys. If a science program gets this wrong, what hope have we of educating the general populace. Mark Thomas: I think that you and the other thoughtful correspondence on this matter are not correct. And that according to modern taxonomic definitions, apes are indeed monkeys.
