Writing a Comedy Part in a Series?

Lucy and I wrote the series in a spare year so we had an extra long period of time to write it. We would often write sometimes serious bits and then undercut it with the joke always. Lucy's advice for new writers: "Pack pack stuff into your script make something happen right at the beginning"
