The Difference Between Real and Virtual Images
Images of things that we see in the real world are generally real images or at least they produce real images in our eyes. Convex mirrors for instance always produce virtual images because think about a convex mirror it spreads out the light so there's no way that the light rays don't actually have to intersect. Our brains just sort of trace lines back to where it looks like they came from and then find where they intersect and that is a virtual image when that happens. So if I draw three different light rays coming from the top of a tree and they hit the lens and reflect at the correct angles and then eventually meet up again those same three light rays meet up again at some other point
