U.S. Airstrikes in Somalia Aren't Signed Off by the White House.

President Biden issued a guidance changing the U.S.'s drone strike policy. Under this new guidance that Biden ordered strikes outside of Iraq and Syria, they need to be signed off by the White House. But there's a major loophole in this new policy. If the strike can be justified as being launched in self-defense of the US or a partner force, then it doesn't need to besigned off by theWhite House. And the strike on Sunday likely fell under this justification because they said al-Shabaab was attacking in previous press releases.
