The Importance of Empathy in Negotiation
Empathy can be learned, but it must become a part of you. It has to become intrinsic for people to trust you and feel safe with you. You don't become empathic just for the sake of mediation. That is a skill set that I learned in law school that I'm now applying to your problem. This comes from who I am as a person and it's all of those things that I bring to, resolving, conflict.
