The 19 70 railway children is itself loved film. But that doesn't mean it should be protected from reappraisal. I recently re watched it to consider whether i could show it to my children, who are six, eight years old. The main issue is the pacing. And they would have got bored before the children even make it to yorkshire. Not all classics need remaking. If it's perfect, like mary oppins or mary poppins, then leave it well alone. Let's not consider all classics untouchable by definition.
