Many people believe that the measles vaccine causes autism, and there's anecdotal evidence to back up their claim. But if you look at names in the U.S., many of them start with a J or maybe an M or an S or a D. This patternicity is very problematic in the context of mistaking things based upon their probability. There are lots of reasons that things really are associated but they're not causal.
