In the mid nineties, there were less than ten restaurants in New York City. There was nothing really other than chinatown and creo town. The cheap eats to the middle of city didn't exist. John george opened up a lot of things. Peasant opened up. A forgione just took it over. But frankie de carlo had an amazing restaurant.
