What Does This Mean for Rhabdomyelitis?

Rhabdomyelitis can range for completely asymptomatic to life threatening. It's generally thought that a ck has to be greater than 5 000 units per liter to indicate a serious muscle injury and to be associated with a renal injury so there is actually some safety margin. We're talking about 20 times the upper limit of normal now ck is an interesting thing because it starts to rise within 12 hours of the injury and peaks variably between 1 to 3 days but we would normally hope to have that serum testing back before then.
