At the beginning, like he's having nightmares about the fact that like everybody is suffering because of him. And I feel like by the end, I agree with you completely. Like it's like a superhero movie, right? He changes the world. The world doesn't change him, but there is like that TV. You got a character. There's no change. A character just has a small change to make by the end of the episode and they present the problem at the beginning.
