The Benefits of Bat Immunology
The study was published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The research team looked at bat immune responses to a variety of viruses, including rabies and dengue fever. They found no evidence that bats were more vulnerable than other animals because they could not be infected with certain types of virus. It's unclear whether this will have an effect on future pandemics.
