CHAPTER

The Cultural Difference Between Sparta and Earth

Mars is yet again Sparta in space. And it's so weird to me that the ancient Greeks could forever manage to modify science fiction. Anything set on Mars with the exception of the Martian by Andy Weir, maybe the Red Mars, Blue Mars, Green Series season, 90% of anything set on Mars. But for whatever reason, Mars is always the Spartan war one. So they should sometimes write a sci-fi where they put Soviet remnants on Venus. We never do that with Mercury or anything like that.
