Simon Case on the Civil Service and the Boris Johnson Era of Ethics Challenges
Simon Case was trying in classic civil service way to nuance the position. He's slightly all right, fudged the question of whether there had been a breach of the code or not. They tried not to answer questions about who'd been involved in the Johnson and on as list resting on principle and precedent. So I think that's still a problem, both for Simon Case and more generally. But it was nevertheless good that the cabinet secretary was out there.
