The Effect of Video Laryngoscope on First-Pass Success in Critically Ill Adults

Will tracheal intubation guidelines for critically ill adults state that either use of a video laryngoscope or a direct laryngoscopy is acceptable? Interpreting the results of prior randomized trials in these settings is a little challenging. The device trial was conducted by the pragmatic critical care research group, which is a network of emergency medicine, anesthesiology, and critical care clinicians and researchers from 20 centers across the United States. Device was designed as a parallel group randomized trial in 17 and EDs and ICUs across the US.
