The Sexual System of Plant Classification

Inaus became famous for developing his sexual system of plant classification. Once it was proved that you needed both male and female parts for fertilization to occur, Linnaeus was totally on board with it. He produced a general key for the classification of plants which he called the sexual system of classification. It's most famously set out in the first edition of the system of nature in 1735.
