i do not think that people can learn unless they admit that they're wrong. i would definitely caution people very carefully about trying to rescue someone who doesn't want to be rescued. This is psychological rescue, not like rescuing some one who's drowning. For yes, you can rescue people when they're drowning, even if they don't want yer help. And so and that's a really good metaphor for trying to help some one too.
