Is It a Bad Idea to Cancel a Trip to China?
The White House is worried that the trip will make washington more nervous about helping them out. The chinese are doing it for a couple of reasons: They have a party conference on the horizon, where sijanping is likely to try to install himself as the leader if life. There were some indications that maybe there'd be some very aggressive military actions in response,. things that could kind of reprisals on tian. But again, i think youhave put the question to the tiwanes and do it privately with that advice.
