The Problem of Evil and the Idea of God's Existence
You don't want to attack straw man because then your critique has little value. But if you can state the opposing view persuasively, for example, the problem of evil and suffering, you present that forcefully. I think it's illustrative that Aquinas in some of his works, he has a big work called Day Marlow on evil. Sometimes there he'll present himself over two dozen objections to the position he wants to make. When it comes to God's existence, he can only think of two that are worth responding to.
