Kant famously says he's like I can't get into this system without supposing that there's a thing in itself and once I'm within the system I can't do the thing in itself reference any longer. And then the other sort of problem is yeah I mean if Kant's modest he's also pious this is like some of the most Protestant philosophy you could possibly work out.
