Anselm thinks that something can exist in multiple forms. It's a bit like what William Lane Craig might do with actual infinites. We can conceive of them, but he thinks that actually you know the contradictory. So I think you can understand the concept. You can understand the words and it can feel like you've got a good idea of it,. But it's just that you actually don't.
