The History of Punch Cards

In mid 19 sixties, there are at least something like 200 billion punch cards being manufactured every year. And then you have the physical act of punching them. Takes energy. You have to cart those things around. We're having to generate electricity to power current digital informational world. It's rather sobering thing is that yor already, the amount of energy and resources that were putting into this, it's about the total metabolic output, or utilization, of around 700 million humots. But i think we've all had that feeling, just at a very personal level, of being almost governed by electronic devices. Are smart phones not necessarily good for us? I don't know if anyone can
