The Prophet's Unresolved Shadow
Both of these men practised polygamy, and specifically, polyangery. Both seemed to have experiences being at profound internal war with themselves around issues of patriarchy, power and sex. I believe that joseph smith lost touch with his own humanity, and his shadow did, in fact take over. But i also believe he had unresolved shadow content that was never looked at around sexuality.
