Happiness is related to something like consonante of brain states, which i think sort of relates to low free energy slash low prediction error. You can just check the reward centre for simple things, traditionally, a monkey drinking juice, and find that it's fully adjusted away this prediction. But you can also increase consonants other ways, and predictability won't cancel these out. So i would amend the original post on the sub redet to you seek unpredicted reward, but by definition, you can never get this consistently.
