Is Silence Essential to a Deeper Life With God?
Sam Waco: I have mixed feelings about the Jesus prayer tradition, but I love this idea of invocation. It does seem like silence at some level is essential to cultivating a deeper life with God. He says we can try to practice silence in terms of the physical not being around or listening to music. But he says the real work is done as we bring ourselves to that space in a sort of rested inness.
