robin rain: Comedians may be just uniquely wired to make that transformation. But i maintain that as sad as comedians may be, they are no sadder than the general population. We are only perhaps more aware of our own sadness. I think it's a current that runs through the entire human population. A comedian taps into that sadness, turns it into jokes and makes people happy. That is distinct from turning your own sadness into a sad song or tapping into your own sadness to express the words of somebody else.
