The Importance of Diversity in Decision Making
We talk about a major online retailer that had a recruitment bought that selected against women. We've talked about some really unfortunate situations where. Labeling systems so like if you get your photos automatically labeled. It doesn't do well with darker skin tones, and one of them was labeling black people as gorillas which was super offensive. And I actually know someone who's passport photo kept getting rejected because of basically the same thing. That's one of the reasons why it's so important to have a diverse group of people in the room when you're making these decisions.
