We produce 200 billion red blood cells per day, which s astounding to me. We know that thereare certain times when you can have anemia. Anemia isa reduced numbers of red blood cells. decreases in red blood cells can happen during infection and during sepsis. But but it wasn't really clear or known why that would happen. And i think one of the important things tha wer gin to learn from this paper is at its one potential explanation for how you can have a a decrease in the number of red blood Cells.
