The Hard Problem of Consciousness

In a deterministic universe described by objective physical laws, what place is left for subjectivity? Why should drinking alcohol or coffee feel a particular way? And in what sense do these epiphenomena exist? I wondered then if consciousness and creativity were the same thing. The fact is, that not only do we experience the world, but we can even agree about some of our experiences. That salvages a purpose for consciousness in the physical world on this topic as it is.
