The Evolution of Population Sizes and Humans
If you have an infinite population size, ok, you're not going to have any drift. Then the dynamics within the population are going to be totally driven by selection. And so if a mutation is neutral, right, that the the graff will drift up and down like the stock market. If it happens to hit the ceiling, fantastic. It's now a sort of fixed in the population forever. A lot of the ations that we actually see that fluctuate in the human population, they have very minor effects on selection. They either head to the basement right away or head to a the proverbial ceiling right away. So these are some of the a perameters of life, reality
