Viacom sued YouTube in 2007 over 100,000 videos it claimed were infringing on its intellectual property. Zoe Turr who shot the famous OJ Bronco footage filed a lawsuit and eventually joined larger groups of lawsuits from sports leagues and record labels that saw YouTube as like a repeat of Napster. And then these people were told like we can't proactively go out and look for these things because that puts us in legal jeopardy. It's not only porn, it's violence, it's harassment, it's any kind of material that YouTube might not want on its platform.
