At the point when Clarence Thomas got into Holy Cross, this school was actually actively looking for black students. The president of Holy Cross, Johnny Brooks, who set up this program, described it as affirmative action. I think it was positive because he had a group. He wasn't alone now. And he became part of his group. Friend Glenn Lowry: "He definitely was inspired by the black Panthers"
