Buddhism has much more complex subtle and nuanced values in how you deal with a school shooter situation than we generally give them credit for. The Western bias here is basically colonized peoples responding to the West with an ideal of apparent pacifism that puts them on the moral high ground above their exploiters. But when we own that idea, and we started presenting as Buddhist values, it's so impacted places like Sri Lanka.
