The Denial of Death Is the Driving Force of Civilization

I do think that coping with our mortality is probably the major driving force of civilization. I try to take a lot of walks outside when I'm by myself and intentionally leave my smartphone back at home, which can be a great distraction. We've invented a lot of wonderful things, but many of them take us out of ourself. And we're not being present.
