I find it hard to imagine right now that he would admit a loss before exhausting all escalation options, including demonstration of a nuclear weapon. So even if there was a ceasefire to this war, it would only buy a second war. There are still escalation alternatives between where we are now and nuclear employment. And basically, try to exhaust Ukraine and try to exhaust the West over time, just push this war to 2023.
