Julia's Decision to Move to New York
Three days after graduating high school in 1985, a 17-year-old Julia moved to New York where her sister was living because she wanted to try to make it in the industry. She told Barbara Walters of this time, I didn't know what was going to happen, but I had the security of my sister who lived in New York and went to acting school there. It reminds me a little bit of Tom Cruise. Those people with such insane amounts of hustle are the ones that end up making it. Yeah, a huge amount of grit.
