The Importance of Hard Work
The lie of hard work is rewarded is much more consistently, explicitly or implicitly taught in schools. I've had this phrase knocking around in my head, like, necessary lies of civilization. And I can't quite get this idea to go away. It's the acknowledgement that if everybody thought about society and human interactions the way I do, the whole world would burn to the ground.
