How to Help Your Child Work When Homework Is Done
Most successful strategy that I've ever seen used by caregivers is to do the opposite of what most parents do. If we think about pre-mat contingencies where we put the less preferable activity before the more preferable activity, every activity for the whole rest of that evening is going to be better than doing homework. For many kids, that is the sort of specific time limited task with a clear benefit to themselves that happens right afterwards. They can be highly effective.
