Is There a Role for Pharmacists in the Hospital?

I think often our perspective as as fellows is interacting with ID pharmacists during consult rounds or sometimes in the outpatient setting. Other roles that I have within the hospital are involvement in our antimicrobial stewardship program. We also hear my institutions a little unique in that we have a lot of C-suite support. And we are actually a high value pillar organization for the institution. So we report directly to our CMO and meet monthly with him to talk about stewardship goals and metrics.
