The company sets these minimums to try and find people who are quote unquote underperforming but also to hurry things up right if a 50 car train comes in you have 10 minutes per car that's 500 minutes. The rail track inspectors and track workers have been slashed to the bone too so maybe there was something wrong with the rail maybe something had developed in it since the last time it was inspected. Maybe this defect would have been caught in this derail derailment may have been avoidedmaybe if we weren't if there wasn't this pressure around moving cars as quickly as possible then this train would have been smaller or it would've been built better and the derailment wouldn't have been nearly as bad
