Ukrainians and the Russians - Is There a Kinship?

I think Maidan was a kind of defining moment where people said, we want to be Ukrainian. I'm no expert on this by any stretch of the imagination. From what I know from traveling to Ukraine over the past year, there's a tremendous amount of ill will from the average Ukrainian to the average Russian. And I suppose the tragedy of all of this is they are brothers. They are so closely related, so closely tied. That's what I thought.
