Russell and Penny Hook Up in the Ice Room

In the director's cut, there's a whole scene of just Russell and Penny talking in the ice room before they like hook up. Which is one of the only times that we're out of William's perspective. I found that to be a strange choice. There are really good reasons why that stuff ended up on the cutting room floor.
