The author argues that technology designers have a responsibility to stay connected to the things they're developing. He says it's increasingly important as it becomes clear that simply hiring ethesists and having an ethical code isn't actually enough to keep a company honest and ethical. "I feel very strongly that if other countries are showing that they can gain a military advantage through robotics and ai, no amount of political upheaval would cause the united states military not to adopt that technology"
