The first thing is you need a temp probe. You can't sit there and expect that you can stick the tympanic monitor in their ears and you're going to be able to get temperature. What they need is preferably an esophageal probe. Now some people ask, can we use a rectal probe? Well if that's where you like to go, you just knock yourself out.
