Is the Dollar Going to Retinish?

Is there any reason to believe the footprint of the dollar will retract, get smaller? Or will this crisis just further its reach and scope. I don't think the dollar is going to seem to be an important global currency anytime soon. Europe has limited the global reach of the euro by not providing the kind of safe asset that is provided by the US Treasury.
