Do You Have a Late Cancellation Policy?
If you are running your own private practice, you get to do whatever the hell you want. People don't know they have the freedom to do that. So unless it becomes like a pattern of behavior where the client is late canceling regularly, at which point I probably wouldn't charge them for it for the time. That's an option for you.
