A five million euro penalty announced in which the regulator found it was not as easy for users to refuse cookies as to accept them. But less formally, this is referred to as a dark pattern. Dark patterns are often with cookie consent flows where it's much easier to click accept than reject and they purposely make things very hard to do for users. This also takes the shape of something like Facebook. It's really difficult to delete a Facebook account. It's also really hard to opt out of privacy settings on Facebook. And these are all considered dark patterns. We'll cover what this research actually means for individuals.
